Help for those setting off – supporting start-ups

In view of our purpose of “Building a better working world”, it goes without saying that we support entrepreneurial innovation, creativity and commitment.

For us, the interaction of entrepreneurship and innovation is the key to a strong local and regional economy and to its growth. Collaboration with companies is part of EY’s DNA – all around the world. Our global network of clients and partners gives us a comprehensive insight into current innovations, driven by the most creative minds.

Our EY Start-up Initiative supports young entrepreneurs who help to make the world a little better each and every day. We support start-ups in all phases of their growth and help them to find the right answers to the relevant strategic, organisational, financial, legal and tax questions.

For us, it is important to be a trustworthy partner for founders of companies, one that works together with them to develop their business model in a sustainable manner and move them forward over the long term. We have formed a network of selected, well-known companies and work together with them to scale up start-ups and energise the market. Via our commitment via our own programmes and support for external initiatives, we promote innovative start-ups in a systematic way, creating connections with the right large and medium-sized businesses and thus promoting the growth of start-ups.

At the heart of our EY Start-up Initiative are our services. We offer tailored packages across all phases of growth, with multidisciplinary services in the areas of finance/accounting, tax advising and corporate consulting as well as legal services provided by EY Law. Within the framework of digitalswitzerland, we help connect start-ups with EY and clients of EY, for example, with “Market Entry Bootcamps” and “Scale-up Bootcamps”.

To support founders of companies on their journey, we have developed a number of initiatives in Switzerland and beyond:

Kickstart Accelerator

In collaboration with Impact Hub, EY provides start-ups with experts who offer advice on topics, such as taxes, data security and legal requirements. EY thus supports and promotes the establishment of foreign start-ups in Switzerland, in order to create jobs and strengthen the start-up ecosystem with new companies from abroad in addition to their Swiss counterparts.

EYnovation™ – Support for the market leaders of tomorrow

EYnovation™ is part of the Start-up Initiative and is geared towards ambitious young entrepreneurs who, following a successful application, receive support from us at special conditions for up to three years.

Our goal is to accompany them on the path to market leadership by offering them the same attention, the same service quality and the same access to our international network as current market leaders. A tailored advisory offering for each company.

We want to work together to chart a successful course for the future and find solutions to the most pressing questions young entrepreneurs have: What strategic decisions do I need to take next year? How can we achieve international success? And perhaps even at some point: How can I prepare my company for an initial public offering?

Our colleagues help programme participants find the answers to these and many other questions so they can achieve long-term success.

EY Velocity – a platform for growth

EY Velocity is our global digital platform that helps start-ups grow more quickly. It is tailored to meet the needs of founders, CEOs and management teams and enables optimum decision-making and better production in the shortest possible time.

The platform offers our users exclusive access to EY studies, tools and resources and provides them with an opportunity to learn from the world’s most successful entrepreneurs.

With our “Connect, Focus, Act” concept, we connect start-ups with investors and experts so that they can tackle challenges jointly and grow together. The core of the EY Velocity programme is based on the EY Growth Navigator tool, which analyses the current situation of a company based on the "seven drivers of growth" and provides tips and advice via a very comprehensive data base for achieving the desired target status. This approach helps entrepreneurs set priorities, develop strategies and generate growth.
